Earth Day Celebration and Clean Up
Suzanne Little | May 13, 2009
Sunday April 19th, 10am-3pm Earth Day Festival and Creek clean up. Centennial Park Ganges Creek clean up starts at 11am. Clare Cullen submits this invitation to the community: “Please join us for a community Earth Day festival in Centennial Park. Displays from non-profit groups, activities such as puppet-making and a Knit-in, Free-cycling area (bring your lightly-used ‘treasures’ and take some ‘new’ ones home)…plus live music!
A highlight of the day will be the creek clean-up. Starting at 11am, participants will scour the in-town creeks for trash and make the waterways pristine again. Recognition for the most trash collected! Dress accordingly – gumboots, gloves, etc.
E-mail ssearthday ( at) telus.net for more information and watch for articles in the Driftwood.”
