Video of Brilliant Rainstorm Sunset
Christopher Roy | Jul 26, 2009
Its been weeks of clear blue skies and sun here on Salt Spring, but last night the skies opened up, while the air cooled, and the island was treated to a much needed burst of rain. The beauty of nature and life was on full display with rare thunder and lightning along with a breath taking sunset through the evenings rain clouds. If you missed it, we managed to capture some video of the sunset looking West from the Fulford Valley across the peak of Mount Maxwell. Enjoy!

Thanks Christopher – we did see it and it was spectacular! – this jogs the memory cells !
Dear Chris:
Thanks so much for this. My son and I watched for hours including the lighting…magnificent. Thanks goodness if was raining hard enough there were no fires.
Dianne
Marvelous. Glad you got some rain. Kanata has had rain for two months. Yesterday was a doozy. Houses were flooded.
Good video, we took a couple of pictures through our trees, quite an amazing sight with thunder rolling around for background. I’ve bookmarked tge site and will revisit, Thanks, Tom
I saw that too! I was on Saturna island at the time though, in Narveaz Bay.
Great to see it again on vid
