Winner of the WORLD TROPHY, International Accordion Competition in Italy, 2003, Jelena Milojevic is one of the world’s foremost female classical accordion performers of today. Her debut concert in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, NYC was the first solo accordion recital in more than 30 years there, and her performances have been acclaimed as “an explosion of cosmic sensuality” and she has been praised for her “brilliant virtuosity”.
Jelena Milojevic is a versatile musician with extensive performing history spanning across the North America and Europe, both as a soloist and chamber musician. Her appearances include highly recognized venues, such as Weill Recital Hall at CARNEGIE HALL (New York), Coliseum Arena (Pula, Croatia), Kolarac Hall (Belgrade, Serbia), Christ Church Cathedral and UBC Recital Hall (Vancouver), Victoria Conservatory of Music…
She was a student at Music Academies in Pula (Croatia) and Kragujevac (Serbia) – two famous accordion centers in the world. During her studies she had intensive collaboration with some of the world’s leading accordionists, such as A. Skliarov,
Y. Shishkin, P. Soave, J. Crabb, D. Modrusan, R. Tomic. She won numerous international accordion competitions.
In 2007, Jelena moved from Europe to the West Coast of Canada, where she is promoting and establishing classical accordion as a performer as well as a teacher. She is currently teaching at Vancouver Community College.
Her CD “The Art of Accordion” will be released within couple of weeks.
