Suzanne Little
Suzanne is the Editorial Manager and Co-Founder of SaltSpringCommunity.com. She moved to Salt Spring Island with her husband in 1992 to enjoy the quiet island way of life as a balance to the hectic pace of her life on the road as a professional musician. Not long after, with two young sons added to the picture she switched her focus to stay full time on island and returned to her career roots in newspaper and advertising copywriting.
“I’ve written all my life – it has just taken different forms. I have paid the bills by writing everything from the back of a cornflakes box to articles for FLARE magazine. For over 10 years I was fortunate enough to work as a professional songwriter and musician. Telling stories – my own and others has always been the thread for me.”
Most recently Suzanne has worked as a marketing strategist and public relations consultant for clients including the Bill Reid Foundation, Randy Bachman, and Michael Ableman.
Suzanne’s earliest professional journalism experience at Toronto’s alternative weekly newspaper Now Magazine instilled a great sense of excitement that new communications outlets bring to the populace and she is excited to share this enthusiasm with her much loved community, in the form of the Salt Spring Community Site.
Currently, as a senior consultant for Mobius Communications, Suzanne also provides emerging media guidance and pliable web solutions direction to clients.
Suzanne’s love for music is sustained by the vibrancy of the musical community on Salt Spring Island and she occasionally can be heard strumming along with her sons and husband on local stages.
