Saturday Market
A highlight of the Salt Spring experience is the Saturday Market in the Park. Approx 150 vendors set up each Saturday from the beginning of April to the end of October to bring the bounty of their creative pursuits to market.
From 8am – 4pm, in Centennial Park in Ganges, you can wander through the colourful stalls with elegant hand made pottery, beautiful artwork, jewellery and handcrafts.
You can shop for your dinner at the many farm produce stands featuring locally grown organic produce from some of our renouned farms, like Michael Ableman’s Fox Glove Farm. Get delicious organic baked bread, David Wood’s hand made goat milk cheeses, delicious pastries and refreshments. Set up in the park for a picnic lunch and take in the local colour. You will often hear visiting or local musicians performing in the park or busking in the market.
Or have a seat on the patio at one of the gourmet food restaurants lining the outer edge of the market and take it all in from there.
What makes the market so unique and refreshing is the guiding rule the vendors must Make it, Bake it or Grow it. So everything is one of a kind.
The Market runs rain or shine and starts on April 3 this year.
